Bio

Hello everyone! My name is Lilly Rivas, I am 23 years old and my dream is to become a teacher as soon as 2018! I just recently graduated with my Bachelors in Communications this past Spring of 2016 and am excited to embark on this new educational route. I have been working in the field of education for a little over three years now. I first started as an AVID tutor for the Perris Union High School District and have loved my experience working in the classroom. It was these experiences that solidified my desire to ultimately become a teacher. I am now working as an in-home tutor as well as a substitute teacher for the Temecula Unified School District.  I love working in the classroom and am currently still debating on whether I should complete a single subject or multiple subject credential. I love working and interacting with elementary school students since I have a lot of experience working with this age group from babysitting when I was younger however I have the most experience with the middle school age. I feel passionate about teaching math since I know its a subject that many students are weary of and its very rewarding to see students understand something that was challenging for them before and see their confidence in the subject improve. My goal is to be able to make a positive impression on students so that they can have the confidence they need to be successful.
